This guide explains how to connect the LineVu Discovery Unit to a Starlink Standard Kit for remote monitoring and support access.
1x Starlink kit (installed and online. See Starlink Quick Start https://www.starlink.com/public-files/StarlinkInstallGuide_Rectangular.pdf)
1x Discovery Unit (installed and powered.)
1x Cat5e UTP (10m or required per unit) Ethernet Cable or greater.
Route an ethernet cable from Starlink Anntena Ethernet Adapter into the safe area where the Discovery Unit is installed. Connect the other end of the CAT6 cable to the Starlink port on the Router.
Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into either of the RJ-45 ports on the Starlink Router.
Connect the other end of the cable to the WAN/LAN port on the LineVu Discovery Unit.
Recommended: DHCP enabled. Starlink automatically assigns an IP.
If static IP required (advanced use):
IP: 192.168.100.x
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.100.1
DNS: 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)
On the Discovery Unit, open a browser.
Run: www.google.com
in the search engine
Contact PV Support to confirm Discovery Unit can communicate with the LineVu remote portal.
No link light: Check adapter, cable, or port seating.
No IP from DHCP: Reboot the Discovery Unit or configure static.
Ping IP works but DNS fails: Update DNS to 8.8.8.8.
Still offline: Confirm Starlink app shows “Online” and reboot router.
