Pre-requirement:
Mechanical installation of LineVu Camera Can (See Quick start guide Steps listed below)
- Install LineVu to Tapping Point
- Install Bracing System (if required)
Product overview:
Figure 1 - External Features
Enclosure lock: Quarter-turn flat-profile lock for opening and securing the enclosure. Ensure the enclosure remains closed while in operation.
Fan/Filter: Provides internal heat management for the enclosure. Ensure the minimum clearance specified in the Installation Drawing (DRG-1061-EN) is maintained for optimal performance.
Screen: Touch-operated display interface.
On/Off Button: Switches enclosure power ON/OFF. The button is ON when pressed in and lights green when power is present within the enclosure.
Cable gland plate: Suitable cable glands must be installed for all cable entries. Any unused openings must be blanked off to maintain the enclosure seal and ensure effective cooling performance.
Figure 2 - Internal Features
Power Input Terminals: These terminals supply power to the unit. The required input is 24 VDC nominal, with an acceptable operating range of 16.8 to 33.6 VDC. The unit has a maximum power consumption of 5.6 A at 24 VDC, equivalent to approximately 134.4 W. Is earthing mandatory?
Ethernet Ports (RJ45): Each Ethernet port is assigned a specific function and is not interchangeable. The WAN port is used to connect the unit to a Wide Area Network, such as a user’s internet connection or a Starlink terminal. The Camera port must be connected to the LineVu Camera to provide both data communication and power via PoE+. The LAN port is an optional connection, primarily intended for troubleshooting and maintenance purposes.
Storage extension slot: Standard 2.5" SSD/HDD slot to allow installation of additional drive, extending the standard ~2 months video storage capacity. Once installed, it requires setting up in software using the Service code.
Router: Requires connection of the supplied antenna for operation. The antenna interface consists of five connections: 2× WiFi, 2× LTE, and 1× GPS. The router provides internet connectivity via LTE cellular data when the unit is not connected through the WAN port (for example, via customer network or Starlink). In addition, it provides a local WiFi access point, accessible via the upper QR code inside the enclosure door.
Digital I/O module: It enables the unit to receive customer inputs and provide configurable outputs. These connections are not enabled or wired as standard and must be discussed with the Process Vision engineering team if required. Any necessary configuration, wiring, and implementation steps will be determined and completed on an individual application basis.
Network switch: Not usable by customer/user. Should it be removed? - Only positive I can think of having shown is if they need to troubleshoot network connection issues. - But that may be included in another article...
Internet Connectivity options:
1. Sim Card with Antenna Installed (require Sim Card, Router setup & Antenna)
2. Starlink (require use of WAN port) - ADD LINK TO SEPARATE ARTICLE
3. User Internet connection ( require use of WAN port)
Connecting Via Sim card (To be separate article):
Figure 1 - Router connections & Access code
Step 1: SIM Card Installation
Step 2: Antenna Installation
Step 3:
Starlink connection options (To be separate article - but it's quite short as starlink guide is extensive.. -> should stay here?):
Step 1: Setting Up Startlink. (refer to starlink guides)
Step 2: Connect the Starlink router LAN port to the LineVu Alert WAN port using a suitable RJ45 Cat5 (or higher) Ethernet cable. Ensure the cable is installed with an appropriate gland to maintain the unit’s seal and preserve optimal cooling performance.
Troubleshooting.
Unit Access Codes:
1. OEM code (Only known by Manufacturer, used for initial commissioning by Process Vision)
2. Service code (Set up by Process Vision customer service personnel)
3. Are there any other codes?
