Enclosure lock: Quarter turn flat profile lock used to open and secure the LineVu Alert enclosure. The enclosure should remain closed and secured during normal operation to protect the internal equipment and maintain the designed cooling airflow.

Fan and filter: Provides forced air cooling and heat management for the enclosure. Ensure the minimum clearance specified in Installation Drawing DRG-1061-EN is maintained around the ventilation openings. If the enclosure temperature is higher than expected, confirm that the fan is operating and inspect the filter for dust, dirt or other obstruction. The filter can be cleaned as part of routine maintenance and replacement filters are available from Process Vision.

Screen: 10.1 inch touch operated display providing the primary local LineVu Alert user interface. The screen can be used during commissioning and for local viewing and operation of the system.

On/Off Button: Switches the LineVu Alert enclosure power ON or OFF. When the unit is powered and switched on, the button illuminates green. No illumination indicates that the unit is switched off or that power is not present.

Cable gland plate: Provides the entry point for power, Camera Can, network and any application specific cables. Suitable glands must be used for each cable entry. Unused openings must remain sealed to maintain the enclosure seal and effective cooling performance.

2. Internal Features and Connections

Opening the LineVu Alert enclosure provides access to the installation connections and service components shown below. During a standard installation, the primary connections are the 24 VDC power input, the LineVu Camera Can connection and the selected internet connection.

Figure 2: LineVu Alert Internal Features

Power Input Terminals: These terminals provide the main power connection to the LineVu Alert unit. The nominal supply voltage is 24 VDC, with an acceptable operating range of 16.8 to 33.6 VDC. Maximum power consumption is approximately 5.6 A at 24 VDC, equivalent to approximately 134.4 W.

Electrical installation, including protective earthing requirements, must be completed in accordance with the approved installation documentation and applicable site electrical requirements.

Ethernet Ports: Three RJ45 Ethernet connections are provided. Each port has a dedicated purpose and the ports are not interchangeable.

WAN: External network connection. Starlink or a customer supplied Ethernet internet connection must be connected to this port.

CAMERA: Dedicated connection for the LineVu Camera Can. This port provides data communication and PoE+ power to the Camera Can.

LAN: Local Ethernet connection primarily intended for authorised maintenance, service and troubleshooting.

Alert Important: Starlink or any customer supplied internet connection must be connected to the WAN port. Connecting the internet source to the CAMERA or LAN port will not provide LineVu Alert with internet connectivity.

Storage extension slot: Allows installation of an additional standard 2.5 inch SSD or HDD to increase the available video storage capacity. The additional drive must also be configured within the LineVu Alert software after installation. Contact Process Vision if additional storage is required.

Router: Provides cellular, WiFi and network connectivity for the LineVu Alert system. When cellular connectivity is required, the router can accept a compatible SIM card and uses the supplied external antenna. The antenna provides two WiFi connections, two LTE connections and one GPS connection.

The router also provides a local WiFi network which can be used by authorised personnel to access the local system interfaces during commissioning or troubleshooting.

Digital I/O module: Allows LineVu Alert to receive external customer signals and provide configurable outputs. Digital I/O connections are application specific and are not normally wired or enabled as standard. Contact the Process Vision engineering team where digital inputs or outputs are required.

3. Local Access and Router Connections

Several local interfaces are provided to support installation, commissioning and servicing of the LineVu Alert system. QR codes located on the inside of the enclosure door provide quick access to the relevant interfaces without requiring the addresses to be entered manually.

The diagram below also identifies the SIM card location and the WiFi, LTE and GPS antenna connections on the router.

Figure 3: Router Connections and Local Access QR Codes

WiFi Login: The upper QR code contains the connection details required to join the LineVu Alert local WiFi network using a phone, tablet or laptop.

Router Management: Provides access to the router management interface. This interface is used to configure network and cellular connectivity and is intended for Process Vision or authorised service personnel. End users should not normally need to modify router configuration.

Control Panel: Provides local browser access to the LineVu Alert control interface. This interface is separate from the router management interface and is used to configure and commission LineVu functionality.

Info Control Panel and Router Access: These are separate systems. A LineVu Alert OEM or Service Code provides access to functions within the LineVu control system. It does not provide access to router configuration or establish internet connectivity.

4. Internet Connectivity

Internet connectivity allows LineVu Alert to communicate with Process Vision services and enables authorised remote support and monitoring. The appropriate connection method will normally be agreed before installation and configured during commissioning.

LineVu Alert supports three primary internet connectivity methods:

1. Cellular LTE: A compatible SIM card can be installed in the internal router. When correctly configured and connected to the supplied LTE antenna, the router can use the cellular network to provide internet connectivity.

2. Starlink: A Starlink system can provide the internet connection. The Ethernet output from the Starlink equipment must be connected to the LineVu Alert WAN port.

3. Customer Internet Connection: A customer supplied Ethernet internet connection can be connected directly to the LineVu Alert WAN port.

Where multiple connectivity methods are configured, the router can be configured to provide an alternative connection path if the preferred network is unavailable.

Detailed installation and troubleshooting procedures are provided in the relevant connectivity articles:

5. Commissioning

Commissioning confirms that the LineVu Camera Can, LineVu Alert control system and selected communications method are all operating correctly as a complete system.

LineVu Alert should normally be commissioned by Process Vision or an authorised service engineer immediately following installation. This ensures that connectivity and system configuration can be verified before the installation is handed over to the customer.

Commissioning typically includes verification of:

      • LineVu Camera Can connection
      • System power and startup
      • Camera image and communications
      • Internet connectivity
      • Remote Process Vision connectivity
      • Correct system configuration
      • Local control panel operation
      • Creation of the appropriate Service Code

Info Commissioning: Where a Process Vision engineer is attending the installation, commissioning should be completed before the engineer leaves site wherever practical. This avoids the need for customers to access internal network configuration as part of a later setup activity.

If LineVu Alert has been installed but has not yet been commissioned, contact Process Vision Support before modifying network or system configuration.

6. LineVu Alert Access Levels

LineVu Alert uses controlled access levels to protect system configuration, recorded data and the integrity of the installation. Different access levels are provided depending on the type of commissioning or service activity being undertaken.

Info OEM Code: Manufacturer level access used by Process Vision for initial configuration, commissioning and service activities. The OEM Code provides the highest level of system access and is retained by Process Vision. It is not provided to end users.

Info Service Code: Created by Process Vision during commissioning. The Service Code provides access to the functions required for authorised commissioning and system configuration without providing manufacturer level access. The Service Code can be provided to authorised customer or service personnel where appropriate.

Service Codes should be retained securely and only provided to personnel authorised to make changes to the LineVu Alert system.

Alert
Important: OEM and Service Codes relate only to the LineVu Alert control system. They do not provide access to the router and they do not enable or configure internet connectivity.

If a Service Code has not been configured for the system, contact Process Vision Support. The LineVu Alert may need to be connected to the internet so that a Process Vision service engineer can complete the configuration remotely.
